Health Ministry and Parish Nursing

UMC Cross

Health Ministry

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God?

1 Corinthians 6:19

Our Health Ministry focuses on the whole person to emphasize wellness, disease prevention and health promotion, including healthy spirituality. We believe that health is growth toward well being and emphasizes the interrelationship of body, mind and spirit. Health is not simply the absence of disease but is a constellation of our thoughts, feelings, acts and our spirit.

Roles of the Parish Nurse and Health Ministry
Health Educator and Counselor; discussing health concerns, emphasizing early response to problems and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Provides referral to healthcare and social services.

Facilitates support groups for the community such as prayer and support group for parents of special needs and Divorce Care.

Coordinate volunteers who help those in need.

If you feel urged to become a part of the Health Ministry in any way please contact us.

Peace be with you,

Therese Pineda R.N. Parish Nurse
